State Employee Recreation Leagues

The state employee recreation leagues were organized primarily as a way to promote exercise, relax and de-stress from work. The leagues also provide a way to meet new people from other agencies, team build outside of the office and network. It began with bowling and has grown into several sports that are played year-round. If you want to improve your social well-being through fun and being part of a team, please consider participating. 

Archery (spring)

  • Location: Trosper Park Archery Range, 2201 S.E. Grand Blvd., Oklahoma City.
  • Outdoor field league.
  • April through June (eight weeks).
  • Cost – around $30 if you have your own equipment or $10 per week for rental.
  • Instructional skill-building clinics offered on Saturdays (recommended for beginners).
    • Indoor begins in November at H&H Shooting Sports, 400 Vermont Ave. Ste. 110, Oklahoma City (off I-40 and Meridian).
    • Outdoor begins first week in April at Trosper Park Archery Range.

Basketball (spring/summer)

  • Location: TBD.
  • Dates are usually first week in May through last week in July.
  • Duration: Regular season is 10 weeks with additional playoff week.
  • Game times are usually 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 p.m.
  • Must be 18 or older to participate.
  • Players must be full-time state, education or municipal employees.

Bowling (fall and spring)

Due to COVID-19, Bowling will resume in 2022.

Golf (spring/summer and summer/fall)

OKLAHOMA CITY

  • Location: Lincoln Park Golf Course, 4001 N.E. Grand Blvd., Oklahoma City.
  • Spring/summer league usually begins in April and goes through June.
  • Summer/fall league usually begins in August and goes through September.
  • Each session is approximately 10 weeks.
  • Registration fee includes cart and green fees (subject to change).
  • $27.97 with cart and $19.82 if walking
  • Nine holes alternating each week between east and west course (front nines only).
  • Two-person teams (switching between scramble and best ball formats). 
  • Shotgun start is at 5:30 p.m.

TULSA

  • Location: Forest Ridge Golf Course, 7501 E. Kenosha St., Broken Arrow, OK.
  • League is eight weeks.
  • Tuesdays, usually from June through July.  
  • Registration fee is $20 for cart and green – nine holes (subject to change each season).
  • Two-person teams (scramble and best ball format). 
  • Shotgun start is at 5:30 p.m.

Sand Volleyball (spring/summer/fall)

OKLAHOMA CITY

  • Cost is $65 early bird registration; $70 mid registration; $75 late registration.
  • Includes team shirts.
  • Team must have minimum of nine people on the roster.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

TULSA

  • Location: Pearl Beach Brew Pub, 418 S. Peoria Ave., Tulsa, OK 74120.
  • Cost: $65-$75, depending on early or late registration.
  • When: leagues every night of the week.
  • Includes team shirts and discounts on drinks!
  • Different formats every night, 4v4, 6v6, etc.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.

Soccer Outdoor and Indoor (summer and fall/winter)

OUTDOOR

  • Location: Energy Practice Fields, 2700 N.E. 63rd St., on east side of Oklahoma City-County Health Department.
  • Season: July to September.
  • Registration: $50 (subject to change).
  • Open to state, city or county employees and their spouses.

INDOOR

  • Location: OKC Sports Center, 11100 N. Kelley Ave., at Hefner and Kelley.
  • There are three indoor seasons between October and March.
  • Cost is $598 per team (includes referee fees).
  • Teams consist of eight to 15 players.
  • Begins early October.

Softball (spring and summer)

  • Location: Wheeler Park, 1120 S. Western Avenue (off I-40 and Western).
  • Teams must consist of eight minimum, with a maximum of 10. Half women and half men on the field.
  • Must be 18 or older to participate.
  • Players: 75% must be full-time state, education or municipal employees with 25% other.
  • Cost (per team): $350.
  • Minimum of 10 and maximum of 15 players per team.

Tennis

  • Location: Oklahoma City Tennis Center
  • Doubles League – $64 per person (paid on first day).
  • Sunday evenings 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m..
  • Three seasons beginning April-October.
